Nel processo di chiusura delle t he elevator light curtain, which is used as the elevator door area safety protection device, not only plays an important role in protecting the safety of passengers, but also solves the issue of people or objects being caught in the doors. The elevator light curtain is designed to protect passengers and objects when they are entering and exiting the eleva- tor. When first invented, the elevator contained a safety risk at the door entrance area, as the opening and closing of the elevator door was directly controlled without detecting whether there were people or other objects in the middle of the door. This lead to the safety risk of the elevator catching people or objects in the process of closing the door. In order to solve this risk, the elevator industry developed a mechanical protection device using a safety touch plate. The safety touch plate can be looked at as a type of ‘soft door’ between the car doors of the elevator. When the safety touch plate touches the passenger or objects in the elevator car door closing process, a switch connected to the doors will give an ‘open’ signal to the control cabinet. The elevator will then reopen the doors, so as to protect the passenger or ob- ject. However, this safety touch plate had its drawbacks, as passengers would often get caught between the doors, which resulted in a sense of discomfort and lack of security. With the development of electrical safety science, the elevator in- dustry developed a non-contact safety protection device. In the process of closing the doors, when the non-contact safety protection device detects someone or something in the door area, the signal sends feedback to the door control system to reopen the door or keep the door open.
