Today, however, faced with the pressures of a market that experienced a crisis more than ten years ago and has not yet recovered, often complete lifts or single components produced in for- eign countries such as Spain, Greece, Turkey, even China, are installed. Without second guessing the quality of foreign manufac- turers (regardless that some Italian manufacturers partly produce abroad), the lift operator must, in these cases, ask himself what problems may occur “afterwards”. Will spare parts be quickly available, or will the business be affected by the need to stock spare parts in a warehouse? More impor- tantly, will adequate technical assistance be available? Does the manufacturer have a qualified Italian importer? If not, does he speak the language? These questions refer to a more general theme, which is unfortunately often overlooked, because of the immediate costs of training. No technician should install landing doors, or operate as a repair and maintenance technician without adequate training. Therefore, suppliers who are organized to manage training their clients, with periodic updates, are the recommended choice. Nowadays advanced IT tools and virtual meetings can be used for this purpose. Information is also linked to the subject of training: it is important that door manufacturers, like other component ones, make technical documentation available as much as possible, using the means that technology offers today. An example of this are the video tutorials made by Anacam and available on the dedicated platform. It is equally im- portant that lift technicians make the best use of this mate- rial, and favor those who are best able to provide it. The key to success is therefore the collaboration between the manu- facturers and the lift companies, which makes the latter in- creasingly professional. As the door is one of the components that is most subject to wear and impacts, it must be of a variety that can withst and the workload
