ANACAM MAGAZINE - n.3 luglio | settembre 2021
• the weight of the cabin operator to be replaced; • the shape of the car roof and the fastenings; • the dimensions of the thresholds, also taking into account the details of the sliding channels; • the possible presence of an early door opening system; • possible modifications that can be made to the original fix- ings of the mechanisms; • the shape of the doors and their anchoring system to the mechanism; • the thickness of all the doors; • any obstacles in the shaft that could impact the new cabin operator; • the power supply voltage on the car roof; • the possible presence of voltage on the signals coming from the control panel; • …more. If the brand /model tobe replaced iswell known, KITs dedicated to the modernization of specific models can also be found from the various manufacturers. We are talking about standardized coded items and reasonable delivery times. If the new supplier is particularly focused on technical details, they will be able to supply the fixing points in the same position as the old ones. Many modernizations are carried out successfully every year. The elevator operator will find an unexpected source of satis- faction in this particular market segment. Automatic doors are also evolving towards something new. Research, testing, inno- vation, rules and directives always lead us forward. We expect progress in the field of predictive maintenance. In the future, sensors will show a lift malfunction rather than the lady on the third floor. The communication system between the lift and the elevator driver will be increasingly integrated. We will come to have fewer wires in the compartments; perhaps the future will be full-wireless (directives permitting). Phones will be an integral part of the maintenance technician’s professional life. We too, like other manufacturers, are developing increasingly advanced diagnosis and control systems. The CANBUS will become a MUST-HAVE and young electronic engineers will find more and more stimuli in an apparently only metalwork- ing sector. There is a lot again, but above all there will be a lot. The new generation materials also find space in our products and the most innovative sectors push us to create ultra-light doors with low energy consumption. Real-time diagnostics is now a reality also for lifts and is an added value for both the lift operator and the door manufacturer. Thanks to the data, we recognize the state of wear of the doors and the critical issues. While understanding that it is not an easy transition, the new generations of elevator operators will have to move towards advanced systems, where electronic knowledge is no longer an option. The pandemic has apparently slowed down this evo- lutionary process, but actually the most innovative companies have used this time to create new things and improve existing ones. The hope is for a new golden age of lifts as the inevitable integration with the buildings of the future will make lifts an increasingly active factor of the improvement of our homes.
