53 In usual working conditions, damage of the light curtain is often caused by unstable voltage, poor grounding, interfer- ence of ambient light, dust or water, amongst other things. Since the elevator light curtain officially entered the elevator market less than 20 years ago, various types of light curtains have been invented, each with their own individual techni- cal specification. 2D elevator light curtain: it is the popular traditional light curtain in the elevator market. The infrared scanning beam scans and detects in the plane in which the car door travels. Once a person or object enter this plane, they are detected by the light curtain and the door opening signal is sent to the door controller. Its effective detection range is a two- dimensional area. This kind of light curtain is mainly used in standard passenger elevators and freight elevators. There are two kinds of blind area in the elevator light curtain scanning and detecting process. One is that small objects are not easy to detect by scanning, and the other is non- opaque objects are not easy to detect by scanning. Although the new European standard EN81-20 increases the size of the shielding object from 120mm to 50mm, there are still objects smaller than 50mm that are not easily detected by infrared scanning (such as baby arms, pet leads, etc.). At present, there are two solutions. One is to increase the num- ber of infrared tubes to increase the detectability of smaller objects. The other is to increase the mechanical safety touch plate, to reach the double protection with both touch and no-touch. 3D light curtain: the 3D light curtain is an upgraded ver- sion of the standard 2D light curtain. The effective detection range is a three-dimensional space area. It operates by scan- ning and detecting a person or object in the door entrance area and informing the control system to open the door or keep the door opening. According to the different design methods of the 3D light curtain, it can be divided into two types: separated structure and integrated structure. A separated structure 3D light curtain uses a 3D detector on the top of the car door in addition to the standard 2D light curtain. The integrated 3D light curtain has integrated 3D detection system built into the same unit as the 2D system. This style of elevator light curtain is mainly used in high- grade residential buildings, hotels and other applications, as the price is generally higher than the standard type of light curtain. The future: the camera light curtain The camera light curtain is used to solve the existing prob- lems of the traditional infrared light curtain. The camera scans all parts of the whole door entrance area (including the bottom) and recognizes people and objects in all di- rections. With intelligent analysis (AI) of these images, it determines whether the door entrance area is blocked or not. Furthermore, when a person or an object is within 100 mm of the landing doors, the door control system will judge whether or not a passenger wants to take the elevator and will open the door or keep the door open. ra per assicurarsi che il cavo non venga graffiato o strappato.
