67 Comparison(partial) betweenpointsoftheEN81-1andEN81-20 standardsrelatingto doors Point of the standard EN 81-1 Standard EN 81-1 Point of the standard EN 81-20 Standard EN 81-20 7.2.3.1 Doors with their locking devices must a have mechanical strength which, when blocked, under a 300 N force perpendicular to the door, applied anywhere on the surface and on either side, uni- formly distributed over a round or square shape area of 5 cm2, they: a) withstand without permanent deformation; b) withstand without elastic deformation greater than 15 mm; c) during and after the test, they maintain their safety function unaltered. 5.3.5.3.1 The complete landing doors with locking devices and car doors must have a mechanical resistance such that in the locked position for the landing doors and in the closed position for the car doors: a) when a 300 N static force perpendicular to the door / frame, applied anywhere on the surface and on either side, uniformly distributed over a 5 cm2 round or square shape surface, they withstand without: 1) permanent deformation greater than 1 mm; 2) elastic deformation greater than 15 mm. After this test, the safety function of the door must be unaltered. b) when a static force of 1,000 N, uniformly distributed over a round or square shape 100 cm² surface, is applied perpendicularly to any point on the panel or frame from the side of the landing door stop or from inside the car for car doors they must withstand without significant perma- nent deformations altering functionality and safety (See 5.3.1.4 [maximum clearance 10 mm] and 5.3.9.1). For glass doors see 5.3.6.2.2.1 i) 3). NOTE For a) and b), the surface of the probe used to ap- ply the test forces can be of soft material to avoid damag- ing the door trim. NEW 5.3.5.3.4 In addition, for: - landing doors with glass panels; - cabin doors with glass panels, and; - side frames of landing doors with a width greater than 150 mm; the following must be observed (see Figure 11) [omissis]: NOTE 1 If additional panels are used on the side of the door frame to close the well, they should be considered as side frames. a) when an impact equivalent to a fall of 800 mm of the soft pendulum impact device (EN 81-50: 2014, 5.14) strikes the glass panels or side frames in the center of the width of the panel or frame, at the impact points accord- ing to Table 5 [omissis], from the side of the stop or from inside the cabin, the following must be observed: 1) permanent deformations may occur; 2) the door must not lose its integrity. The door must stay assembled without gaps greater than 0.12 m in the shaft; 3) after the pendulum test, the doors need not be able to function; 4) the glass elements must be uncracked; b) when an impact equivalent to a fall of 500 mm of the rigid pendulum impactor (EN 81-50: 2014, 5.14) is ap- plied to glass panels larger than those in point 5.3.7.2.1 a) striking the center of the door panels or glass panels in the side frames, at the impact points according to Table 5 [omissis], from the side of the stop or from inside the car, the following is required : 1) no cracks; 2) no damage to the glass surface except splinters of 2 mm in diameter. NOTE 2 In case of multiple glass panels, the weakest panel configuration is taken into account. Note: green: no changes red: deleted text black: new text.
