La normativa sulla salute e sicurezza sul lavoro prevede che, quando non sia possibile eliminare o ridurre sufficientemente i rischi adottando misure tecniche di prevenzione, mezzi di protezione collettiva, misure, metodi o procedimenti di riorganizzazione del lavoro, sia necessario che i lavoratori utilizzino Dispositivi di Protezione Individuale (DPI) (art. 75 del D.Lgs. 81/08). I DPI sono mezzi di protezione che comprendono qualsiasi attrezzatura destinata a essere indossata e tenuta dal lavoratore allo scopo di proteggerlo da uno o più rischi suscettibili di minacciare la sicurezza o la salute durante il lavoro nonché ogni accessorio destinato a tale scopo. I DPI devono essere conformi a quanto previsto dal regolamento UE n. 2016/425 (art. 74 del D.Lgs. 81/08). Per individuale s’intende che il dispositivo, durante l’uso, protegge una singola persona. Il datore di lavoro destina ogni DPI a un uso personale ma, qualora le circostanze lo richiedano, lo stesso DPI può essere usato da parte di più persone, a condizione che siano prese misure adeguate affinché tale uso non ponga alcun problema sanitario e igienico ai vari utilizzatori (art. 77 del D.Lgs. 81/08). The legislation on health and safety at work states that workers must use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Article 75 of Legislative Decree 81/08) when risks cannot be eliminated or sufficiently reduced by adopting technical prevention measures, collective protection measures, methods or procedures for reorganizing work. PPE are means of protection which include any equipment intended to be worn and kept by the worker in order to protect him/her from one or more risks likely to threaten safety or health at work as well as any accessory intended for this purpose. PPE must comply with the provisions of EU Regulation no. 2016/425 (Article 74 of Legislative Decree 81/08). By personal what is meant is that the device protects a single person during use. The employer assigns each PPE for personal use but, if circumstances require it, the same PPE can be used by more than one person, provided that adequate measures are taken so that such use does not pose any health and hygiene problems to the various users (Article 77 of Legislative Decree 81/08). 45
