18 surprising in his genuineness, but it clarifies very well what the habit is. It is clear that other suppliers of goods or services of the condominium or private individuals, who can interrupt the service or reduce its effect, are favoured in case of cash difficulties. For a number of reasons, which we all know, lift maintenance companies are in any case and always forced to guarantee assistance, including the 24-hour service, even in the event of late payment. All the players in our sector should concretely reflect on the fact that a supplier who is paid late, repeatedly and constantly, is weakened in his ability to guarantee service and safety for all users who, unaware, also suffer from this situation. It is a system problem, not merely concerning a territory or a malpractice, and it is an alarm signal because it means that the sector is weakening. Despite everything, the economic numbers of the analysis of the companies in the sector are still positive, as excellently explained by Professor Ceriani in the interesting article published in this edition of ANACAM MAGAZINE, but the liquidity situation to support development is strongly lacking and it is necessary to anticipate the resolution of what could become a structural defect of the sector. The Anacam observatory clearly shows that there is no homogeneous behaviour on the market to deal with this situation. Demanding respect for work is a sign of strength and professionalism; indulging in certain behaviours is a sign of weakness in the sector and will never lead to change. The decisive action of those who govern companies in the sector is the path to change. Furthermore, it seems important to reflect on the types of companies, on who governs them and how. Even if service providers, i.e. installers and maintenance companies, with component manufacturers are part of the same market, they undergo the dynamics described above in two different ways. Furthermore, it must be considered that in Italy about 70% of companies in the sector are family-type micro-enterprises, while in Europe the leading companies are large, in line with the global trend, and small ones act as subcontractors. In Italy, components producers are usually medium and large companies who receive payments, on average on a regular basis, in times ranging between 30 and 90 days. The world of services, on the other hand, is mainly made up of small and medium-sized companies who are more flexible and agile, they manage to be closer to the end customer and at the same time absorb all the market variables with payment times exceeding 180 days. Surely those who produce components are bound by raw materials, but they also have the strength to carry out research and innovation; those who provide maintenance services risk being blocked by inverted payment times in which supplier and labour are first paid and La risposta quasi spontanea di quell’amministratore, che so essere persona onesta ed integerrima, è stata sorprendente nella sua genuinità, ma chiarisce molto bene quale sia la consuetudine.
