40 Efficient lifts, energy saved. The role of the control panel Ascensori efficienti, energia risparmiata. Il software del quadro di manovra è lo snodo principale it is well known that, in lifts serving buildings with little traffic, up to 90% of the energy consumed by the lift is spent in the stand-by phase, i.e. when the car is stationary. This observation is fundamental for a realistic and effective approach to energy saving: increasing the already excellent dynamic performance of the lift by limiting energy losses due to inefficiency of moving parts has, in fact, a limited impact. It is, on the other hand, essential to reduce consumption during those long periods of partial or complete inactivity. The task of reducing the consumption of the lift when it is not in use falls to the control panel and, in particular, to its management software, which must be able to assess the machine’s state of engagement and identify prolonged periods of inactivity, and then activate (or not activate) a progressive series of energy-saving actions. In practice, the most energyconsuming devices in the lift’s stand-by operation are the following: • the car lighting; • the frequency variator (in the electric lifts); • the door operator and light curtain; • the oil heating resistor (in hydraulic systems); • the car and landing displays (if present); • the electronic boards of the switchboard; • buttons and other objects with permanent backlighting. Il quadro di manovra, e in particolare il suo software di gestione, svolge un ruolo attivo nel conseguimento degli obiettivi di risparmio energetico nella fase di non utilizzo dell’impianto attraverso l’attivazione progressiva e programmabile di diversi stati di funzionamento The control panel, and in particular its management software, plays an active role in achieving energy-saving objectives during the lift’s non operative phase through the progressive and programmable activation of different running phases prodotti sul mercato di Emanuele Emiliani
