56 Let me light you up just when you need it Ti illumino di meno, anzi quando serve la luce è emozione! Many moments in our lives are marked by the light that surrounds us. Think of how we turn on the lights at home depending on our mood or what we have to do. Yet, light in physics is nothing more than electromagnetic radiation that, starting from a source, is able to spread out in space, in all directions. The perception of light itself is subjective and depends on three factors: the light source, the surfaces on which it reflects, and our eyes. What are the main characteristics of light and how is it measured? The unit of measurement is the lumen, which is the amount of light a light source is able to emit, while with lux we measure the amount of light present in a room. The latter value is influenced by the surfaces on which the light itself is reflected, i.e., for the same lumen, in a white environment we will have more lux than in a black one because white reflects while black absorbs light. If we want to make a practical example, with the same light sources, in a car with white or in any case light walls, the light will be greater than in a car with dark finishes. A fundamental parameter to take into account when choosing light sources is the Colour Rendering Index (CRI), which defines the colour rendering of objects illuminated by an artificial source. The higher this value, the more real the colours. The maximum value is 100 (sunlight). A value of 90 or higher is very good and the return of colours is likely to be that of sunlight; between 80 and 90 is quite true, while a lower value makes the original colour of surfaces lose fidelity. Another parameter to L’illuminazione con lampade LED consente un notevole risparmio energetico, soprattutto in fase di standby la luce viene spenta o se ne diminuisce l’intensità Lighting with LED lamps allows considerable energy savings, especially when the light is switched off or its intensity is reduced PRODOTTI SUL MERCATO di Gianluca Panzeri
