Avete mai sentito parlare di work-life balance? Alla fine, si è deciso di dedicare uno spazio anche agli articoli non selezionati perché fare innovazione non è facile e lo sforzo, a nostro avviso, va sempre riconosciuto in qualche modo. if we jump from one task to another, if we have an unread volume of emails and phone calls that we cannot answer, if we do things at the last minute, then perhaps we should stop and think. I believe that when we are completely and frantically absorbed, it can happen that we lose sight of our goals, that we become overwhelmed by apprehension. What should we do then? Dedicating time to oneself, even a little, increases mental and physical well-being, provides the time and distance needed to see things from another point of view and thus helps to find solutions and new ideas, strengthens interpersonal relationships and improves quality of life. In short, loosening one’s grip is crucial to achieving and maintaining success over time. Learning to slow down helps to be faster. It sounds like a paradox but it is not. Time is not an infinite resource and therefore it is necessary, in my opinion, to reconsider the dynamics of our work, to learn to delegate and give new meaning to the word ‘important’, to organise work better, to plan, to say no. The real treasure today is free time. Have you ever heard of worklife balance? To this theme, which I feel very strongly about, I will dedicate my interventions in the next regional meetings to understand how much this perception of mine is shared, and to reflect together with you. In the meantime, I leave you to read this special issue of ANACAM MAGAZINE, which aims to open a window on what innovative things our SME members are able to offer the market, even though they do not have the same resources as large companies. Indeed, it is precisely this disparity of means that makes the effort they make even more valuable. A technical committee oversaw the selection of the articles that best met the requirements. In the end, it was decided to dedicate a space even to the non-selected articles because innovation is not easy and the effort, in our opinion, should always be recognised in some way. 6
