buildings in which they are housed; they also consume most of their energy in a stationary/standby state, i.e. while the car or doors are not moving. Actions to decrease consumption and increase energy efficiency should therefore be aimed at improving performance during non-operation. On the other hand, a smaller percentage of high-traffic lifts should improve efficiency during operation because it is during this phase that significant consumption occurs. Barbara Acreman, Director for State Construction, Housing Policies, Urban Regeneration and Special Interventions of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, also spoke. The manager reported on the Ministry’s intention to set up a working table, thus supporting the request made in this regard by the presidents of the most representative associations, to initiate a regulatory reorganisation of the sector, and to arrive at the release of a standard that covers technical issues and matters relating to safety, technological advancement and facilitated taxation. The theme, Mosanghini pointed out, is to get to work on amending Ministerial Decree 236 with regard to technical prescriptions that are outdated by European standards. Lift transport could become a small segment of the new housing plan being studied by the Ministry, Acreman continued, to address housing discomfort in general and of certain categories in particular. Marco Cogliati, an expert from EFESME and Small Business Standards - SBS, during the following GEE Talk focused on the role of European standardisation and digitalisation, analysing solutions and future scenarios in the field of integrated sensor technology and IoT ‘systems’. The Anacam stand welcomed not only members but also architects, engineers, computer scientists and non-member companies interested in the association’s activities. One Turkish company even expressed its intention to join Anacam as an affiliate member. Also participating in GEE 2023 were the member companies AMC Instruments, DMG, DONATI, ELETTROQUADRI, GEAT, GMV MARTINI, GRUPPO MILLEPIANI, IREMA GROUP, LIFTECK | Orona, LIFTEX by Blaas Günther, LIFTING ITALIA, MASTECH, METALIFT, MOVILIFT, OMNIA LIFT, PRISMA, STANNAH, TEKNO SMS, TELCAL, TELESAN, UPDINAMIC, VALFER, VEMAS LIFT, VICINI & C. and WECO. The next edition will be held from 19 to 21 November 2025. a media.
