20 The Member States of the European Union have recognised the importance of accessibility by subscribing to the United Nations Standard Rules on the Equalisation of Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities. This is an exhortation and a moral commitment for all those involved in the lift industry, as an accessible building is an inclusive and friendly building, fundamental to the social and economic success of a community. Within the European regulatory framework for lift equipment that ensures accessibility for all, including people with disabilities, there are four standards that I want to mention here and which are summarised in Table 1. Gli Stati membri dell’Unione europea hanno riconosciuto l’importanza dell’accessibilità, sottoscrivendo le Regole Standard delle Nazioni Unite per le pari opportunità per le persone disabili. Ciò rappresenta un’esortazione e un impegno morale per tutti coloro che operano nel settore degli ascensori, poiché un edificio accessibile è un edificio inclusivo e amichevole, fondamentale per il successo sociale ed economico di una comunità. Nel contesto normativo europeo relativo alle apparecchiature di sollevamento che garantiscono l’accessibilità per tutti, incluse le persone con disabilità, vi sono quattro norme a cui intendo accennare in questa sede e che sono riepilogate nella Tabella 1.
