ANACAM MAGAZINE - n. 2 aprile | giugno 2024

What is it about? In recent months we have developed and completed an important acquisition operation, in fact the first in Italy for our Group: BEG Srl, one of the most solid and interesting companies in the production of controllers in Italy, is now part of the DMG Group. There is quite a bit of movement in our sector regarding acquisitions. How does this operation fit into this context? It is true. There have been important acquisitions and changes of ownership in recent years in Italy, certainly larger than the operation that concerns us. We have seen above all Private Equity funds at work, among the few capable of offering a natural exit route to historic companies that cannot or do not want to continue their journey through internal generational transitions. Its part of the game. Here, however, we are dealing with something different: this acquisition, which will also lead to the exit of BEG’s founders in the medium term, is a purely industrial operation conceived and completed exclusively with its own resources and with a long-term objective. Thanks to this operation, DMG consolidates its position in Italy in the controller manufacturing, strengthens its development team and builds a production hub producing over 4000 units per year. And this is just the first step. So what’s next? BEG has a well-thought-out proprietary motherboard that is highly appreciated in our country. We will develop the BEG panel even further in Italy and abroad, immediately offering customers the possibility of using the entire range of DMG push buttons, control panels, and displays natively connected and without additional costs. We will add design and flexibility to BEG’s technological offer and focus everything on connectivity and remote surveillance. We will intelligently manage the obvious product overlaps that have arisen. There are more opportunities than problems: we will take the best of each platform and leave maximum choice to customers. Whoever wants the DMG framework will be able to have it, whoever wants BEG will also be able to have it. We will maintain both platforms, specializing where necessary. At a supply chain level, we are already focusing on exploiting the synergies deriving from the acquisition: there are consolidated common suppliers and a lot of electronic components to share. In panel manufacturing DMG and BEG have similar dimensions and these days, especially when dealing with electronics, size matters. For all the customers inherited from the acquisition, I expect them to be able to immediately appreciate the enthusiasm, professionalism and availability of our salespeople and technicians, the true heritage of this Group. 68 Emanuele Emiliani AD di DMG SpA CEO of DMG SpA AZIENDE DI TITTI LO PAPA
