L’analisi del rischio incendio l’azienda, infatti, la fa relativamente alla propria tivities, carried out under special conditions that the trainer should know in detail, otherwise there is a risk of not going into fundamental aspects. It should be borne in mind that the risk in this case is not only that of an accident, even a serious or fatal one in the worst case, but also the possibility of the worker claiming an occupational disease, such as back pain. However, given the non-repetitive nature of these operations, we believe that this eventuality is quite unlikely in our sector, and experience supports us in this assessment. Manual handling of loads is part of the specific training for high risk. PPES While specific training covers the risks present in the workplace and may include general information on the use of category I and II PPEs, training in the use of category III PPEs is compulsory and is considered a separate type of training that includes practical tests on how to wear, use and maintain the devices correctly. Usually, the training on Category III PPEs relating to the risk of falling from height (in particular, harnesses, with their associated lanyards, retractable devices and energy absorbers) is done together with the course on working at height and the risk of falling from height. The legislation does not specify either the minimum duration or the periodic updating of these courses, which, however, once fixed, should be indicated in the risk assessment document on the basis of the risk analysis. SPECIAL EQUIPMENT Then, when one or more workers use special equipment, such as forklifts (the training course in this case is compulsory for working in warehouses), mobile crane, scaffold towers, scaffolding or others that present special risks, they must receive specific training on their use, which may include specific rules that can be requested from suppliers or a specialised consultant. The necessary updating is in any case considered to be every five years for forklifts and crane trucks, and every four years for scaffolding. FIRE PREVENTION There are also types of training that are compulsory but do not necessarily concern all workers. One is fire prevention training, aimed at members of the fire-fighting teams, who are normally employees working on the premises who have made themselves available to carry out this activity. The fire risk analysis is done by the company in relation to its own premises. On construction sites, at least in theory, fire risk instructions and training, if any, should be provided by the client through the Safety and Coordination Plan. This course requires a five-yearly update. FIRST AID A second is first aid training. Apart from the fact that practice dictates that a first aid worker does very little besides calling for help, this obligation is also addressed to 23
