The sustainability report is, in essence, the story of how we are and how we do business. HOW DID ENVIRONMENTAL CERTIFICATION FACILITATE THE DRAFTING OF THE REPORT? Valentino Casagranda: Environmental certification had already led us to develop a structured data collection system, which proved to be a valuable starting point for drafting the report. We then launched an internal initiative involving various departments, allowing us to channel skills and information into an organic process. It was a bit like channelling the water of a river. WHAT WERE THE MOST CHALLENGING STEPS? Franca Borzaga: Drawing up a sustainability report is a complex process, which requires not only the collection and organisation of a large amount of data, but also the ability to highlight the many activities that take place within the company. This is why the choice of people to follow the process was so important. Externally, we relied on a young and innovative local agency; internally, we used the Management Committee and a dedicated ESG Committee. The Management Committee, composed of nine people responsible for the main areas of the company, is also an important part of our generational transition project. We chose to invest in the growth of internal skills rather than looking for a manager outside the company. It is a model of widespread leadership that is not based on a legacy to be passed on, but on a project to be shared and built together. This too, on closer inspection, is a form of sustainability. Valentino Casagranda: We have involved individuals with direct access to administrative data for personnelrelated aspects, the purchasing department to assess the sustainability of supplies, systems managers, and those responsible for waste management in the ESG Committee. This group currently consists of six members, but we plan to expand it by 2025 with the addition of two more people to further strengthen its skills and representativeness. YOU HAVE ALSO MANAGED TO COMBINE ART AND SUSTAINABILITY. Franca Borzaga: Yes, with MetalKunst3, our third division, we recover waste materials and transform them into works of art. Six nationally renowned sculptors were invited to work directly within our production facilities. The creations were then exhibited in the Sala Acquario of the Contempo Gallery in Pergine Valsugana. MetalKunst3 represents a concrete way for us to support artists, enhance the local community, and promote the culture of the territory and recycling. THE LINK WITH THE TERRITORY IS AN ESSENTIAL PILLAR OF YOUR VISION OF SUSTAINABILITY. SOSTENIBILITÀ DI TITTI LO PAPA
