This is particularly true in Italy, where the lift fleet is among the largest and oldest in Europe, characterised by extraordinary technical heterogeneity and very different intervention requirements. In this context, selecting the most suitable components is becoming an increasingly complex task: technologies are evolving rapidly, regulations are being updated with increasing frequency, and end users expect reliable, safe and high-performance solutions, both for new installations and for modernisation and maintenance work. At the same time, manufacturers and service providers are required to make a continuous effort to keep pace with innovation. Developing new products or updating existing ones means investing in research, design, certification and, especially for safety components, undergoing long and rigorous testing cycles. This is a commitment that often remains invisible to the general public, but which forms the basis of the quality and reliability of the Italian lift industry. Once this process is complete, however, another challenge emerges: raising awareness of these innovations among installers, maintenance technicians and operators in the sector, so that they can seize new opportunities to work better, more efficiently and with tools that are increasingly suited to the real needs of the systems. To promote this commitment and give visibility to excellence in the sector, the ANACAM Product Awards has been created, a competition divided into five categories that invites the most interesting, innovative and useful products and services to be awarded according to the judgement of the professionals who use them every day. Sviluppare nuovi prodotti o aggiornare quelli esistenti significa investire in ricerca, progettazione, certificazioni e, soprattutto per i componenti di sicurezza, affrontare lunghi e rigorosi cicli di test. Si tratta di un impegno che spesso rimane invisibile agli occhi del grande pubblico, ma che costituisce la base della qualità e dell’affidabilità del settore ascensoristico italiano. Una volta completato questo percorso, tuttavia, emerge un’ulteriore sfida: far conoscere queste innovazioni agli installatori, ai manutentori e agli operatori del settore, affinché possano cogliere nuove opportunità per lavorare meglio, con maggiore efficienza e con strumenti sempre più adeguati alle esigenze reali degli impianti.
