AND NEW TOOLS On the afternoon of 19 June, the third round table, moderated by Alessandra Recchia, turned the spotlight back on one of the issues of greatest concern to businesses: finding young people willing to enter the sector and supporting them until they achieve full professional autonomy. The issue of the profession’s appeal was intertwined with that of intergenerational dialogue and the transfer of skills. For companies, the challenge is not merely to find new technicians, but to successfully pass on practical knowledge, working methods and the ability to handle situations – skills that are learnt primarily through hands-on experience. This led to a discussion on apprenticeships, corporate welfare, generational transition and young people’s involvement in trade union activities. Considerable attention was also given to training tools and methods. Videos, storytelling and more interactive approaches were highlighted as useful ways of bringing learning closer to the technicians’ real-world experience. The new projects presented during the General Meeting are a step in this direction: safety courses using the ‘Play Sicurezza’ method and the programme developed by ANACAM and Docensas for apprentices and junior technicians. However, the issue of generational renewal begins even before new recruits join the company. Many students know little about the lift sector and the career opportunities it can offer. It is in this context that the book “Il mondo degli ascensori. Manuale per le scuole superiori per futuri tecnici ascensoristi” ("The World of Lifts: A Handbook for Sixth-Form Colleges for Future Lift Technicians") has been published. Produced by ANACAM in collaboration with Giuseppe Iotti and Paolo Tattoli, it is designed to introduce students to the profession and provide schools with a specific resource for learning about the sector’s technologies, activities and skills. THE LIFT MUSEUM Andrea Codebò has given a preview of the Lift Museum project, currently under construction in Turin at the Codebò SpA headquarters. The museum is designed to trace the evolution of vertical transport and the role that the lift has played in the transformation of modern cities. The exhibition will not merely recount its history from a technical perspective, but will explore the relationship between the evolution of lift systems and changes in architecture, urban development and everyday life. BUSINESS SUSTAINABILITY AND CONTINUITY During the event, two books were also presented, focusing on topics of particular interest to SMEs. “Report e bilanci di sostenibilità (ESG). Metodologie, indicatori e case history” (“Sustainability Reports and Financial Statements (ESG): Methodologies, Indicators and Case Studies”) by Giuseppe Iotti, published by ANACAM, addresses the key stages of reporting, the CSRD, voluntary standards for SMEs, ESG aspects, governance and certifications, complementing ASSOCIAZIONE
