36 Energy and lifts, the contribution of manufacturers The subject of the energy consumption and efficiency of lifts cannot be dissociated from that of their components. This consideration becomes particularly important if, in addition to the newly installed lift, we think of the extraordinary works that may be carried out on lifts in operation to keep them safe and operational during their long life. Therefore, we could not miss in this monographic issue the involvement of component manufacturers, whom we thank for their interest and commitment in providing us with their information and proposals in a clear and transparent manner. The normal lift serving the typical buildings constructed in Italy does not have significant consumption in the overall picture, and this is all the more true for lift platforms. Nevertheless, it is worth exploring what can be done to improve their energy performance, to understand when and how much the overall impact of these actions can be positive. We therefore present below the contributions of a manufacturer of switchboards, pushbuttons, displays, DMG; a gearbox and motor manufacturer, Montanari; a manufacturer of hydraulic parts, GMV; and Nauled, which deals with lighting. Starting with the latter, let’s say that it is not to be underestimated, because the traditional car lighting, always on, was by far (and is, where it persists) the first source of energy consumption of the type of lift we usually deal with as SMEs in the sector. prodotti sul mercato di Giuseppe Iotti
