Each system (whether lift or escalator) has been equipped with: - temperature and humidity sensors; - supply voltage sensors; - 0-200A current sensor for measuring the total system absorption. At the same time, a system was designed to collect and send data to the technological monitoring, control and management system. This collection system uses: • a local CAN bus network to interconnect all the sensors; • a GSM remote network with MQTT protocol to send data to the server. For the CAN bus network, the speed was sized in relation to the amount of data to be shared. For the remote network, the possibility of using Ethernet networks, with lower running costs and higher performance, was considered as a future improvement. REMOTE OPEN PROTOCOL In this type of application, ‘closed’ protocols are normally used, i.e. independently chosen by the supplier without the details being disclosed to the end user. For this project, on the other hand, the choice fell on an open protocol, guaranteeing all security requirements, with the associated cyber-security issues. The mapping of the information sent through the same protocol was also made known. A software system for receiving, analysing, and processing the data sent by the installations was implemented during the proposed tender. The use of a public communication protocol will allow the contracting station in the future to: • add all or some of the information received with a SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) proprietary, in order to allow the integration of the functionality of the technical installations with other installations owned by the contracting station; • replace, maintain, and update the data analysis software without necessarily being tied to the initial supplier of the same. Therefore, in order to be able to integrate the plant park in a smart-city perspective in the future, it is necessary that the data extracted from the systems can also be fully or partially
