After reaching the upper station by cable car, visitors can use the lifts to climb further up to the main viewing terrace located at an altitude of 3842 metres, where the famous ‘step into the void’ attraction is located. This is literally a box-shaped room protruding from the terrace, in which the walls, floor, and ceiling are made of tempered glass and stainless steel. Visitors can literally walk on the glass and get the view the precipice below. It feels like ‘floating in a vacuum’. WHAT KIND OF DOORS WERE USED? Given the exposure to extreme weather conditions, the technologies used were carefully selected to ensure the safety and comfort of the users. Landing and car doors with fourpanel and central opening were provided using the Hydra model, with framed glass doors and frames made of AISI 304 stainless steel, an extremely corrosion-resistant material. The glass used is fireproof certified in accordance with EN 81-58. Heated guides have also been installed on the car door operator to prevent the formation of ice and avoid problems during door movement, considering that temperatures can drop well below zero to over -20°C. All electrical components installed on the doors are IP-54 watertight. Sono state fornite porte di piano e di cabina quattro ante con apertura centrale modello Hydra, con ante vetrate e strutture in acciaio inox AISI 304, un materiale estremamente resistente alla corrosione.
