PROFONDO ROSSO Considered a true masterpiece of the thriller-horror genre, Deep Red has held entire generations in suspense. All thanks to the amazing soundtrack and the mastery of Dario Argento. In the iconic 1975 film, there is one of the most famous scenes of Italian horror: the murderess who is decapitated by her own necklace wedged between the lift doors... A decidedly strong sequence, but one that is equally unsurpassed. THE LIFT There is even a film in which the lift is the real protagonist. Not surprisingly, it is called The Lift. This 1983 Dutch film, directed by Dick Maas, tells of a killer lift that sows panic in an Amsterdam building. There is also a remake in 2001. The film is definitely disturbing, with strong scenes and an oppressive atmosphere: after all, in those years horror films were on the crest of a wave and filled the theatres. You could be frightened with little, even a killer, out-of-control lift with deadly doors… WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY In the chocolate factory there is a fantastic lift that has made generations of children dream with its magical journey. It is the Wonkavator, an extraordinary lift capable of moving in any direction, which is also one of the main attractions of the 1971 film directed by Mel Stuart (and the 2005 remake starring Johnny Depp).
