17 has been revisited; • all normative references to other standards have been dated; • a new Annex ZA has been developed, which includes a detailed Table ZA.1; • the main normative references have been updated to EN 81-20 and EN 81-50, replacing EN 81-1 and EN 81-2. OTHER NEW ASPECTS A new Appendix F (informative) on the interface between the machine and the building has been introduced. This appendix covers topics such as the guide rail support system and shaft ventilation. With regard to the guide rail support system, the standard is based on the fundamental principle that the guide rails of the lift platform must be supported in such a way as to minimise the effects of movements of the building structure to which they are attached. For the ventilation of the lift shaft, the assumption (already present in EN 81-20) is that adequate ventilation of an enclosed space where a platform moves is often already provided for in local building codes. Since such spaces are part of complex building environments, the standard cannot provide precise guidelines in order to avoid conflicts with national regulations. However, the appendix provides general guidelines for the design of adequate ventilation. Compared to the 2010 edition, the following have been removed from the 2024 edition of EN 81-41: • Appendix F (informative) on the calculation of steel guides; • Appendix G on friction/adhesion transmission (no longer covered by the standard). EXCLUSIONS As in the 2010 version, the standard does not specify additional requirements for: • operation in severe conditions (e.g. extreme climates, strong magnetic fields); • lightning protection; • operation subject to special rules (e.g. potentially explosive atmospheres); • handling of hazardous materials; • vertical lifts whose main function is goods transport; • vertical lifts with fully enclosed load supports (covered by EN 81-42); • vertical lifts subject to vandalism; • hazards arising from earthquakes and floods; • fires, evacuation and behaviour in the event of fire; • noise and vibrations; • foundation design (concrete, ballast, wood or other); • design of anchors to the supporting structure; • type C wheelchairs as defined in EN 12183:2014 and/ or EN 12184:2014. ridotte; • è stata aggiunta la trasmissione a cinghia dentata; • l’uso del termine “supporto di carico” (carrier) rispetto a “piattaforma” (platform) è stato rivisitato; • tutti i riferimenti normativi ad altre norme sono stati datati; • è stato sviluppato un nuovo Allegato ZA, che include una Tabella ZA.1 dettagliata; • i riferimenti normativi principali sono stati aggiornati alle norme EN 81-20 ed EN 81-50 in sostituzione delle EN 81-1 ed EN 81-2. ALTRE NOVITÀ È stata introdotta una nuova Appendice F (informativa) sull’interfaccia tra la macchina e l’edificio. Questa appendice tratta argomenti come il sistema di supporto delle guide e la ventilazione del vano corsa. Per quanto riguarda il sistema di supporto delle guide, la norma parte dal principio fondamentale che le guide della piattaforma elevatrice devono essere supportate in modo da minimizzare gli effetti dei movimenti della struttura dell’edificio a cui sono fissate. Per la ventilazione del vano corsa, si parte dall’assunto (già presente nella EN 81-20) che la ventilazione adeguata di uno spazio chiuso dove si muove una piattaforma è spesso già prevista dai codici edilizi locali. Poiché tali spazi fanno parte di ambienti edilizi complessi, la norma non può fornire indicazioni precise, per evitare conflitti con le normative nazionali. Tuttavia, l’appendice fornisce indicazioni generali utili alla progettazione di una ventilazione adeguata. Rispetto all’edizione del 2010, nell’edizione del 2024 della EN 81-41 sono state eliminate: • l’Appendice F (informativa) sul calcolo delle guide in acciaio; • l’Appendice G relativa alla trasmissione a frizione/adesione (non più coperta dalla norma). ESCLUSIONI Come nella versione del 2010, la norma non specifica requisiti aggiuntivi per: • funzionamento in condizioni severe (ad esempio climi estremi, forti campi magnetici); • protezione contro i fulmini; • funzionamento soggetto a regole speciali (ad esempio atmosfere potenzialmente esplosive); • movimentazione di materiali pericolosi; • elevatori verticali la cui funzione principale è il trasporto merci; • elevatori verticali con supporti di carico completamente chiusi (coperti dalla EN 81-42); • elevatori verticali soggetti a rischio vandalismo; • pericoli derivanti da terremoti e alluvioni; • incendi, evacuazione e comportamento in caso di incendio;
