17 Commission has already taken a stance by implementing new essential health and safety requirements (sections 1.1.9 and 1.2.1) in the Machinery Regulation, which comes into force in 2027. These require manufacturers to protect the machines’ information systems from tampering, to ensure that connecting an external device does not pose a risk, and to protect the hardware components that allow access to the safety software. Lifts will also be subject to the new HESRs introduced in the Machinery Regulation; indeed, the new EN ISO 8100 standards, due to be published shortly, will make explicit reference to the critical issues related to cybersecurity. * Amministratore delegato Pelazza Peppino Srl LA NUOVA SFIDA SARÀ GARANTIRE LA SICUREZZA DIGITALE DI MACCHINE E ASCENSORI, PROTEGGENDOLI DA ATTACCHI INFORMATICI, ACCESSI ESTERNI E RISCHI LEGATI AL CONTROLLO DA REMOTO The new challenge will be to ensure the digital security of machinery and lifts, protecting them from cyber-attacks, unauthorised external access and risks associated with remote control
