L’attività di ricerca del guasto su un precablaggio, inWhereas in the past a technician’s value was also measured by their ability to adapt connections in the car or lift shaft during assembly, today the aim is standardisation. The pre-wiring of electrical components is no longer an option for the few, but an industrial necessity to ensure safety, reliability and profitability. The pre-wiring of electrical components is no longer an option for the few, but an industrial necessity to ensure safety, reliability and profitability. THE CENTRAL ROLE OF THE TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT The process begins long before the materials are delivered. The development of wiring diagrams within the technical department enables an integrated design approach: determining the correct cable cross-sections and lengths is no longer left to the discretion of the on-site operator, but is based on electrical and regulatory calculation criteria. This approach prevents conductors from being undersized or oversized and ensures that every signal, from a simple photocell to the serial communication of the control signal, travels via the correct cables to be installed. The onsite technician collects, via dedicated forms, information regarding the floor plans, the distance between individual devices and the system’s characteristics, which will enable the technical department to develop the entire electrical project with unique designations and specifications.Recording this development is essential for replicating the same pre-wiring in subsequent years and also serves as a valuable tool to support installation and after-sales service. CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT: A GUARANTEE OF PERFORMANCE Carrying out wiring in a protected and controlled production environment offers advantages that are difficult to achieve on site. In the workshops of switchboard manufacturers, wiring is carried out on dedicated workbenches, using professional tools for crimping terminals and strictly adhering to the specifications developed by the technical department. Each cable assembly is also subjected to quality checks, using automated continuity tests and, in some cases, resistance tests to ensure that the insulation is not crimped. This ensures that every cable harness is free from defects. PLUG-AND-PLAY CONNECTIVITY Pre-wired electrical systems rely on the use of connectors that can uniquely identify the connections. There are various types of connectors available on the market, which differ in terms of connection type (screw, push-fit, springloaded, etc.) and build quality.
