62 nici. The round table then addressed safety on construction sites and during inspections more directly. The new State-Regions Agreement on compulsory training and the Safety Decree were examined in the light of their operational implications for companies, with particular attention also paid to the completeness of technical documentation. Finally, an in-depth discussion was devoted to the risks to which engineers from Notified Bodies may be exposed during inspections, through the analysis of specific case studies. A NEW TECHNICAL AND REGULATORY HANDBOOK ON CONSTRUCTION SITE SAFETY During the round-table discussion on safety, a draft of a new technical and regulatory handbook dedicated to construction site safety was also presented; it is currently being finalised by Patrizia Ferretti, Giuseppe Iotti and Paolo Tattoli. The publication has been produced with the aim of providing companies with a specific reference tool for construction site activities, bringing together and organising technical and regulatory guidelines useful for the operational management of safety. SECOND ROUND TABLE: STANDARDS, 2G AND ACCESS TO DATA The morning of 19 June was devoted to the technical and regulatory round table, moderated by Alessandro Cattelan, which addressed some of the key changes set to impact the sector in the coming years. Considerable attention was given to ISO 8100-1 and ISO 8100-2, the Machinery Regulation and the development of EN 81-41 and EN 8142. A specific in-depth discussion was also devoted to the revision of EN 81-40, with particular attention to aspects relating to safety devices, installation and technical testing, within the context of the debate on the market for stairlifts and platform lifts. Among the most pressing issues for businesses, the phasing out of the 2G network also emerged, making it necessary to assess the need to upgrade the emergency communication systems installed on lifts. The transition affects a large number of installations and requires a planned approach to the work, as well as adequate information for customers. Finally, particular attention was paid to access to systems for after-sales services, with a discussion on the right to repair, access to control panels, data ownership and the Data Act. The increasing digitalisation of lifts makes it increasingly important to establish who can access the information generated by the system and under what conditions. A comparison with the automotive sector provided a useful framework for analysing the relationship between data availability, the ability to carry out maintenance work and competition in the after-sales market.
