Licenses: the exam committees have been restored

Finally, the examining commissions at the Prefectures have been reactivated to issue the license to the maintenance staff of the lifts. During the session of 8 November, the Chamber of Deputies, approved the European Law 2017 ("Provisions for the fulfillment of the obligations deriving from Italy's membership of the European Union") which Article 23 provides precisely for the reinstatement of the Commissions. But there is more, innovations have been introduced. In particular, art. 23 establishes that the examining commission is composed of 5 members (instead of 4, who were Civil Engineers, Labor Inspectorate, Motorization and ENPI) appointed by the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Infrastructures, the Ministry of Economic Development, the INAIL and the ASL / ARPA; the examining commission is chaired by the official designated by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies (previously a civil engineering officer); the Prefect of the regional capital, if and when necessary, can arrange exam sessions for candidates from other provinces of the region; the Chairman and the members of the Commission are not entitled to any remuneration.

Now we will have to wait for the publication of the law in the Official Gazette. It is assumed that it could enter into force already before the end of the year. The Government, on the proposal of the Minister of Economic Development, will have to issue a specific regulation to modify the regulation referred to in Presidential Decree 162/99 on the basis of the provisions of the same article 23.
