Superbonus for architectural barriers: parliamentary question

23 April 2021

The initiative is promoted by Anacam, Anie-AssoAscensori and FIABA

The 110% Superbonus for lifts, a crucial measure to improve residential buildings accessibility in Italy, does not take off due to the absence of the necessary implementation measures During the April 22 Chamber session the Honorable Marco Silvestroni addressed the issue to the Minister for Disabilities, the Minister for Development, the Minister of Sustainable Infrastructure and Mobility, and the Minister of Economy and Finance gauging the Government’s interest in initiatives to "specify the minimum requirements and the related certification criteria to tax deductions access referred to in Article 119 of the law decree n. 34 of 2020, with regard to the elimination of architectural barriers" which is fundamental to proceed to the operational phase. This was also thanks to Anacam’s, Anie-AssoAscensori and FIABA’s work. Works relating to architectural barriers elimination are considered “energy saving” interventions.

Silvestroni also examined the need to “adopt initiatives to revise ministerial decree no. 236 of 1989 in order to make it compliant with European legislation governing the means of lifting and transporting people and things (Machinery Directive 2006/42 / EC and Lifts Directive 2014/42 / EU) and with the United Nations Convention on rights of people with disabilities, adopted by the UN General Assembly on 13 December 2006 and entered into force on 3 May 2008”.
