Exports to Great Britain: validity of CE marking extended for two years

28 November 2022

The UK government has announced that companies have another two years to implement the new UK product safety marking called the UKCA, which can already be used now.
In view of the difficult economic conditions caused by post-pandemic changes in supply and demand, the war in Ukraine and rising energy costs, the UK Government has in fact decided not to burden companies with the obligation to meet the original deadline of 31 December 2022, leaving them more time to focus on growth and job creation.
To support manufacturers, the UK government is also revising the broader product safety framework to make it easier to apply markings on products through innovative methods such as electronic labelling.
Companies can therefore use CE marking until 31 December 2024.
