Interlift 2022, strong German and Turkish participation between novelties and technical confirmations
The curtain has finally risen on the Augsburg trade fair. After the last edition in 2019, Interlift reopened its doors with an extraordinary edition with the eloquent subtitle 'The home of elevators'.
So, from 26 to 29 April, the European adventure of trade fairs and exhibitions relating to the world of forklifts started again.
Let us say right away that it was not the usual 'Interlift'. The 350 companies that took part as exhibitors limited the imposing and lavish presentations of previous years by favouring practicality and simplicity, and by putting human contact between insiders at the heart of the event.
According to data released by the trade fair organisation at the end of the event, three out of four exhibitors stated that they were very satisfied. Expectations for the post-show period are also high: 78% expect 'very good', 'good' or 'satisfactory' business. 85% have already stated that they will attend Interlift 2023; only 3% do not plan to do so. For China, 1,500 m2 have already been reserved for the next edition.
Almost 12,000 visitors from 87 nations passed through the gates of the Interlift 2022. 68% are involved in procurement decisions in a decisive or co-decisive way; a further 17 per cent of the visitors are involved in investments, at least in an advisory capacity; 30 per cent have already concluded offers at the exhibition. 71% of visitors had contacts with exhibitors that could lead to agreements after the Interlift. Finally, 57% stated that they visit the German fair exclusively to find out about the latest developments in the lift industry. Interesting was the possibility offered by the fair to visitors who could not be physically present in Augsburg: the first edition of 'Lift Match' allowed one hundred participants to follow the product presentations in a virtual tour of the fair.
In our opinion, German and Turkish participation was high, Italian participation was lower than in the past, and Asian participation practically non-existent.
Anacam participated with an important institutional stand in Hall 5, accompanying a number of member companies that braved the ends of the pandemic and the worries of war in Ukraine to give a sign of recovery. There was no shortage of historical stands of associations and trade magazines.
In particular, we highlight the participation of member companies AMC Instruments, B810/Digicom Energy, CMF, DMG, GMV, Hydroware, ICM, IGV, Metal Working, Metalift, Prisma, Schaefer, Updinamic, Vimec, and Weco.
Several novelties and technical confirmations were presented during the fair: from the DMG manoeuvring panel with electronic board incorporated in the inverter to the CMF device for headboards and reduced pits, from the GMV platform with batteries and solar panel to the new stair lift presented by Vimec, to the controller for unlocking the electrical locking devices of landing doors by Kronenberg.
The conference programme organised by VFA, the German association that organises the trade fair together with AFAG, was also rich, with talks by leading figures such as Esfandiar Gharibaan, René Hermann, and Wolfgang Adldinger.
The next edition of Interlift will be held from 17 to 20 October 2023.
