ANACAM ACADEMY: everyone in the company for two months.
For the participants of the first edition of ANACAM ACADEMY, a new phase of the course has begun. After the practical exercises, and in possession of all the necessary certificates, the students have finally joined the member companies that have adhered to the project, where they will remain for the next two months.
‘It has been an extraordinary experience so far. We hope that the boys will be able to become passionate about a trade that has a lot to offer. Over the next two months, the companies will try to understand whether the trainees are really suited to this type of activity and decide whether or not to hire them. The first feedback from the members is positive, but obviously we are only at the beginning, since the field experience started about a fortnight ago,’ said Alessandra Recchia, Anacam Service councillor delegated to training and coordinator of ANACAM ACADEMY.
What did the students think of it? ‘They appreciated above all the practical part which, among other things, gave them the opportunity to come into contact with RIAM technicians to whom they could ask a variety of questions. The remote lessons,' continued the project coordinator, 'were tiring overall, but none of the participants gave up the course for this reason. For the young people who manage to complete the ACADEMY course with a company job, there will most likely be a second step to deepen some aspects of the lift operator's work according to the needs that the companies will communicate to us’.
‘The guys had no idea that it was such a regulated sector and this was the biggest obstacle for them. I believe, however, that the theoretical part of the course would have been exhausting even if the lessons had been held in person. They gave us many hints for improvement and we will certainly keep their suggestions in mind for the second edition. One aspect I like to emphasise is that they made a group and continue to feel even now that they work in different places,’ explained Monica Malavasi, head of Formazione Network.
The next ANACAM ACADEMY course is scheduled to start in March 2022 and selections are expected to be held in February. ‘We want to create a register of lecturers. We are reviewing the order of topics, reorganising the material for students and thinking about structuring the theoretical and practical lessons differently. We are also fine-tuning the organisation and procedures of the project. In short, work in progress,' Alessandra Recchia concluded.
