MIBA was presented in Milan, the alliance for the building of the future. Accessibility standard update: Salvini commits to Anacam to examine the issue
7 February saw the presentation in Milan of MIBA, Milan International Building Alliance, the event that from 15 to 18 November 2023 will simultaneously bring together four events at Fiera Milano: GEE-Global Elevator Exhibition, ME-MADE Expo, SMART BUILDING EXPO and SICUREZZA. The leitmotif of this ‘alliance’ is to create and enhance synergy between fundamental sectors for building design, construction, and redevelopment. Around one thousand exhibitors from all over the world are expected to attend. The presentation press conference, which took place at Torre Gioia 22, was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructures and Transport Matteo Salvini, the CEO and General Manager of Fiera Milano Luca Palermo, the General Manager of Istat Michele Camisasca, the co-founder and deputy scientific director of Energy&Strategy Politecnico di Milano Davide Chiaroni, the President of ASSIMPREDIL ANCE Milano, Lodi, Monza and Brianza Regina De Albertis, and the Councillor for Housing and Neighbourhood Plan of the Municipality of Milan Pierfrancesco Maran. Moderator, journalist Monica Maggioni.
At the end of the conference, Anacam's past-president Michele Mazzarda, who represented the association together with the director of the national office Luca Incoronato, had the opportunity to talk with Minister Salvini and the undersecretary to the Prime Minister's Office, Senator Alessandro Morelli, representing the need to update the technical regulations on the accessibility of buildings dating back to 1989, because they were no longer in line with the current state of the art, particularly as regards lifting equipment. Mazzarda therefore explained that this misalignment is posing serious problems for citizens and companies that intend to carry out works to improve the accessibility of buildings, also thanks to the incentives of the 75% bonus for the removal of architectural barriers. The government representatives undertook to examine the issue and give feedback to Anacam.
GEE, in which ANACAM is a partner, represents the real novelty of this alliance desired by Fiera Milano. Less than a year after its debut, numerous international and national brands have already confirmed their participation in the first edition of the fair dedicated to vertical and horizontal mobility, which will be held from 15 to 17 November.
In addition to the exhibition part, there will also be a rich programme of conferences and meetings that will range from the new challenges of modernising the lift fleet, to more inclusive, safe, digital and sustainable 4.0 buildings, from the industry's role and growth opportunities in the Italian and global market - with a focus on the programmes linked to the PNRR and the new incentives for energy efficiency in buildings - to regulations and the industry's contribution to the security world. Top national and international experts in the sector, representatives of the main trade associations and research bodies will be involved. Anacam will also offer its support by organising a seminar on accessibility. Keep following us to learn more.
