of the Technical Commission and the various forms of association communication. But above all, they began to ask questions, express doubts and propose ideas: a clear sign of the transition from listening to conscious participation. After the meeting, they were given a questionnaire to gather information on areas of possible collaboration and priority issues. Initial results show strong interest in training new technicians, continuous updating on evolving standards – in particular UNI 10411 – and issues of safety, business management and the development of both technical and personal skills. There was also significant attention to the European regulatory context, the role of EFESME and the internationalisation of companies, as well as a request to strengthen association communication, including through a direct contribution from the Youth Group on social media. The final results of the questionnaire will be shared and discussed in depth during the Group’s next meeting. The two meetings clearly showed that today’s young people are aware of the difficulties, but this does not make them any less ambitious. They live in family businesses, which are often complex, in an ever-changing economic and regulatory environment. They are looking for meaning, not just roles. They want to understand the reasons behind decisions, with many of them already well integrated into the working environment or showing great ambition and confidence. The first Youth Group was born in a different context: its members shared similar paths and almost all of them knew each other thanks to their participation in national assemblies and association trips. The way of doing business was different and, on closer inspection, so was the way of running an association. Today, the scenario has changed. In some cases, the young people who join the Association do not know each other and have often had little contact with ANACAM. Entrusting them with the responsibility of preparing to lead our sector is certainly a challenge, but also a great opportunity. I did not get the slightest impression that they were intimidated by this; on the contrary, they showed that they had clear ideas and were highly motivated. The Youth Group can foster lasting relationships that will accompany these young people throughout their professional and, often, personal lives. After all, ANACAM has always been the home of our companies, and if it is true that home is where the family lives, then, come on guys: you too are an integral part of this big family called ANACAM. The next meeting will be held in Florence on 20 January. In the meantime, the Youth Group continues to grow, with new members confirming the interest and vitality of this initiative, which is set to expand further in the coming months.
