a different and highly flexible solution, as it does not follow the cooperative model with its associated application constraints, but proposes a system of aggregation in which individual companies retain their identity while becoming part of a larger structure. SUCCESS STORIES FROM OTHER SECTORS A significant example comes from the technical optics sector, specifically from the manufacture and distribution of lenses. A leading global group has adopted this model, creating a galaxy of around 200 companies, all of which it controls with majority stakes ranging from 51% to 80%. The aim of this business model is to centralise key services, leaving entrepreneurs free to operate fully in their own areas and manage local commercial relations, while supporting them with advanced tools for growth. Further confirmation of the validity of this approach comes from the packaging machinery manufacturing sector: a large Italian operator has followed this path by acquiring companies with different technologies and markets, while maintaining the entrepreneurial component in the initial capital of the aggregated entities. Today, the total turnover of this network exceeds €2.5 billion. 57
