ANACAM MAGAZINE: The new issue on training and safety is online
Issue 4/2024 of ANACAM MAGAZINE is dedicated primarily to training, updating, and safety in the lift industry.
The magazine opens with a reflection on how a lack of ability to adapt to the market can affect even well-established, historic companies. The watchword is to innovate and differentiate in order to remain competitive.
A significant focus is reserved for the new edition of UNI 10411 standards, published on 31 October 2024, which introduces four separate standards for different types of existing lifts. The article analyses the main changes, modifications, and additions compared to the 2021 edition.
The topic of training is addressed in several articles. One of these offers a vademecum on safety courses in the lift industry with information on how, how long, and how often updates are carried out. Another article illustrates the funding opportunities for training and refresher courses through public funds from the European Union, the Regions, Chambers of Commerce, and inter-professional funds. In addition, accidents in lift companies are analysed, highlighting how human error is one of the most frequent causes, and emphasising the importance of continuous training to reduce risks.
It takes stock of the training offer developed by Anacam in collaboration with Docensas. The existing courses have received very positive evaluations. In 2025, new courses will be launched targeting different roles in the lift industry, with a focus on technicians and new recruits.
Ample space is dedicated to the activities of Anacam Academy, which is committed to introducing young people to the job opportunities in the sector. In this context, there is the presentation of the manual on lifts dedicated to high school students, written by engineers Giuseppe Iotti and Paolo Tattoli. A unique work, soon to be available, which is part of the educational kit prepared by the association with the aim of inspiring the new generations and responding to the growing demand for qualified technical personnel from member companies.
An article tells the story of two ‘daughters of art’, from member companies, who are among the first in Italy to have obtained their licence as lift technicians. A testimony that shows how women too can successfully pursue this career.
On the safety front, an in-depth look is dedicated to the ‘credit licence’, which from 1 October 2024 is mandatory for all companies and self-employed workers, including lift companies, operating at temporary or mobile construction sites.
An article analyses the growing popularity of stairlifts, highlighting the need to update the regulations governing their operation and maintenance.
The issue also offers insights into customs, exploring the symbolic role of lifts in movies and television.
The first inclusive mirror for lifts’ cars is presented, designed to improve accessibility and interaction for people with hearing impairments in the event of a lift emergency.
The ‘True or False’ column deals with the evolution of electronic safety devices and their increasing impact on lift management.
The magazine closes with an interesting interview on the first edition of the Festival della Narrazione Industriale (Industrial Storytelling Festival) organised in Parma last November by an Anacam member.
We invite you to report to the editorial staff any false myths to be dispelled or topics you would like to see explored in depth in the magazine.
